Polish Bantams are quite difficult to sex when young but as they mature the differences become more apparent. Cockerels have a larger more noticeable wattle than hens and the nice neat bob style pompom is much more wild and untamed.

Because of the style of head plumage, Polish bantams struggle to see in any direction except down which makes them vulnerable to predation.
